Recovery...

Mon Nov 24, 2003, 10:57 AM
Its Monday, its raining and extremely cold outside... bleugh!
To top things all off I've got the worlds most monster cold and my muscles ache like god knows what.
Anyway I'm just gonna relay the last 62 hours of madness:

Friday: 11.15 PM Instead of going to sleep early to rest up for Uproar on Saturday I decide to watch 28 Days Later. Sit down with a bottle of vodka and a litre bottle of Red Rooster (Red Bull rip off!!) About 1.30 I attempt to get to sleep but realise the film mixed with a litre of caffeine filled beverage means theres no chance of that! Guess I finally fall asleep about 4am Saturday morning.

Saturday: 9.30 AM I'm awake!! How on earth did I manage that i'll never know. Go into town for something to eat and then come rushing back home realising I've only got an hour before I need to leave for the train station.

Saturday: 3.05 PM I make it to the train station to find out my trains running 18 minutes late, considering there was only 15 minutes between my train arriving in Oxford and the coach for Milton Keynes things don't look good.. Arrive @ Oxford intime to see coach pulling out of station car park.. grrr. Talk to staff at station who tell me thats the last coach to Milton Keynes of the day - NNNNoooooo! Anyway I take a look at the timetables on the bus stop and actually there *IS* another coach in an hours time - hurray! Spend the next hour pacing up and down the bus stop making sure I don't miss it.

Saturday: 6.00 PM Arrive Milton Keynes Central and pay outrageous taxi fare to the venue (3x what its cost me in 6 years of raving @ the sanctuary).

Saturday: 6.15 PM Arrive @ the Sanctuary - its raining and que for 20 minutes. Subjected to a very *friendly* search on the door by security before finally getting into the venue!

Saturday: 7.00 PM Having wandered round all the arenas and having a couple of vodka redbulls I start dancing @ full speed (fool).

(Period of memory *hazy* although I'd venture it includes me dancing at high speed, glowsticks held in a death grip. Really was an excellent night and all the dj's played brilliant sets)

Sunday: 5.00 AM Body gives way and I spend the next half an hour sat on the floor nodding my head to the sounds of DJ SY... Manage to get up and half dance/half wobble to the final thirty minutes of the event.

Sunday: 6.30 AM Back @ Milton Keynes Central only to find my coach back isn't until 9AM, sleep for 2.5 hours on a cold metal bench (can ya see where the colds coming from?)

Sunday: 11.00 AM Get back to Reading, walk home in the pouring rain and am soaked to the skin. Get into the shower and then fall straight into bed.

Sunday: 7.00 PM Wake up, feel like death.. Stagger to shop for lemsip and paracetamol. Crawl back into bed.

Monday: I'm here, i'm alive.. just. All in all was an excellent weekend, but travelling by public transport is just becoming too unreliable! Anyways I had a top night and was well worth the cold and severe muscle pains :)

For Shadee..

28 Days Later DVD Review:

I wasn't sure what I expected when I picked up this DVD. I'd heard lots of good things and some not so positive things.

Storyline: The story worked well and had some nice twists to it as it went along. My only criticism would be the ending, not that its *bad* just not quite what I was expecting.

Cinematography: Quite dark and also quite 'arty' in places which really does fit with the storyline. The bits @ the beginning in deserted london are very good.

Blood/Gore: More than I was expecting really although not too over the top.

Overall: 7/10 - Would probably be higher if your more into your horror / shocker type film than I am ;)

Heh, good thing you recently joined, as this site just got updated to version 3 (called DaV3), its LOADS faster than the previous version, and has more (useful) options to mess around with. :)

Anyway, welcome to Dev-Art Loki....now lets see some RRL renders here. >:)
